SUMMARY:

The Payroll Specialist is under the direct supervision of the Controller. The Payroll Specialist is responsible for casino payroll, computing payroll taxes and deductions, monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll reports. The incumbent must be familiar with, adhere to, and enforce all Prairie Wind Casino Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Tribal/State Gaming Compact, OST Ordinance 94-01, Oglala Sioux Tribal Gaming Rules and Regulations, Federal Indian Gaming Regulatory Act (IGRA), Title 31 Compliance/Bank Secrecy Act, National Indian Gaming Commission Rules and Regulations, Oglala Sioux Tribal Minimum Internal Control Standards, Employee Handbook, and General Accounting Practices as they apply to payroll.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must pass an alcohol and drug test.
• Apply for and maintain an OST Support License.
• Possess a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Possess a minimum of 1-year experience in accounting
• Possess a minimum of 1-year computer experience.
• Demonstrate 10-key by touch skill.
• Submit the proper documentation if applying for Indian Preference.
• Submit a DD-214 if applying for Veteran Preference.
